ABOUT THE COLLECTIVE
The MC Art Collective is a creative homegrown hub where art brings people together and sparks new life in our town.
-
The MC Art Collective is a group of local artists, educators, and neighbors working to grow something new in our small town. We care about young creatives, lifelong learners, and anyone curious about making art a part of their life. We believe art builds community, nurtures expression, and helps breathe life into the places we call home.
-
At the MC Art Collective, we’re passionate about making art accessible and creating meaningful connections through creativity. We organize art exhibitions and classes, host visiting artists, and lead collaborative projects, concerts, and art-focused trips — all designed to spark inspiration and community engagement.
Some of our recent highlights include:
The annual Art Gala and Art Walk
“Painting the Town”, a public art initiative turning everyday spaces into vibrant installations
Collaboration with Big C Creative on an upcoming documentary about local surrealist Gertrude Abercrombie → gertrudefilm.com
Set design support for MCHS musicals and plays
Murals and window painting for local celebrations like the Rhubarb Festival
The YMCA Interactive Sidewalk Project
Arts and culture trips to cities like Chicago and Milwaukee
Annual scholarships for young and emerging artists
We believe in the power of the arts to connect, uplift, and transform — and we’re just getting started.
